Jamie Forney
Mrs. Jamie Forney comes to Christ the Cornerstone with high-caliber musical abilities, organizational strengths, and a passion for education. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Delaware and has taught all ages in both a classroom and private setting for almost a decade.
Jamie was enrolled in classical piano lessons from the time she was 6 years old and regularly participated in festivals and competitions. However, when she would practice at home, she would often find herself learning her favorite pop songs by ear and singing along. When she was 13 years old, she caught the “theater bug” when she was cast as “Annie” in a local production, and she participated in over a dozen shows until graduating high school, landing 6 lead roles along the way. At the University of Delaware, Jamie secured a spot in the internationally-renowned UD Chorale in her first year on campus, being featured as a soprano soloist multiple times as one of the youngest members of the ensemble. She also sang in the Deltones a cappella group where she met her husband Wilson, and she eventually directed and served as an arranger for the group.
Today, Jamie is a gigging pianist and singer alongside Wilson (including an occasional princess outing), and she often serves on the CtC worship team. The duo also recently launched their family band called For:19 with a single titled Believe For You and are working on their first album to be released in the coming year. Musical endeavors aside, Jamie loves to garden, cook, and host. Wilson and Jamie are blessed to share their lives with their two young daughters, Annabelle and Marigold; their family verse, which inspired their band name, is 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us”.
