Jason Wray

Having developed a passion for music by the age of three, Jas Wray has devoted the majority of his life to the craft. Beginning with keyboard lessons, he soon gravitated toward guitar, drums, electric bass, and music production.

In 1998, Jas became the first two-time graduate from Atlanta Institute of Music’s performance program (once for bass guitar, once for drums). He then rounded out his musical training by graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Dual Bachelor of Music degree in Music Production & Engineering and Music Synthesis from the prestigious Berklee College of Music. In 2022, he earned his Professional Certificate in Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV from Berklee.

As a performer, he has played a wide range of styles at clubs, churches, festivals, and studios from Atlanta to Maine, as well as appearing twice on Japanese television. From pop, alternative rock, country, and CCM to electronic and avant-garde, his versatility and dedication to serving the song has allowed him to work alongside world-class musicians and producers. For Jas, music has never been about one solitary instrument or genre. This mindset has given him the flexibility to shift between the roles of performer, producer, audio engineer, remixer, composer/songwriter, and sound designer. He believes strongly that, as Christians, our creativity should reflect the artistic integrity of our Creator.

In 2012, Jas began teaching private lessons and three years later founded a music education business specializing in personalized instruction that caters to the learning style of each individual student. Studying with Jas Wray goes beyond just learning rudiments, scales, music theory, and songs by exploring the essence of what it takes to be an expressive, versatile musician.

Jas is excited to begin a new chapter as an educator by partnering with Christ the Cornerstone Arts Academy to offer private lessons and group music classes to the local community. He hopes to help his students to grow artistically and, more importantly, in their walk with Jesus.
