Your Eyeglasses Are on Your Head!
Never Stop Looking for God.
We’ve all been there: frantically looking for something only to find it in the most obvious spot. What blinds us?
Stress. Anxiety. Perhaps we’re in a hurry. Maybe we’re angry. Maybe we’re just so eager to do something else that our mind cannot recall where we last placed something. Finally we realize we need help so we ask someone else who’s able to see what we can’t. They say, “They’re right on top of your head.”
Did you notice that?
We can’t see what the other person can see. That’s exactly why we need to seek God. God is always caring, always watching, always searching for us. God sees our lives in a way we cannot. We need God's perspective. We need to hear God say, "Hey, what you're looking for is over here."
Remember the son who demanded his inheritance before his father had died. The son squandered all his wealth and ended up in desperate poverty. The father, back home, watched from the rooftop every day for the son to return. And when he did, there was a great party. Only when the son came to his senses and realized he needed the father did he return home.
Even in ancient days, people looked to God:
The poor will eat and be satisfied.
All who seek the Lord will praise him.
Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.
The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him.
Psalm 22:25-27
Keep seeking the Lord! And let’s do it together. No one is alone. Join us at Christ the Cornerstone this weekend as we seek God.
