Wilson Forney

As the Worship Leader at CtC, Wilson is thrilled to be helping with the Arts Academy! He brings not only a love of music but also a heart for leading God’s people in faith-filled, theologically rich praise.

Wilson comes from a family that loves to sing; from three part harmony with his siblings, to Thanksgiving feast jam sessions, to hymns in church, he spent many hours of childhood singing. In high school, he sang in many ensembles at Caravel Academy including men’s choir, select mixed ensemble, and even a barbershop quartet. In his senior year, he landed the role of Doody in Grease, a character that is learning to play the guitar. Wilson took that as inspiration to learn himself, and he continued to grow in his skills through college at the University of Delaware. He began to help lead worship on guitar and vocals at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, where he developed a love of worship leading.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communication, he went on to work for Reach Church, eventually serving as their worship director. Meanwhile, he taught in the classroom at Red Lion Christian Academy for 6 years, faithfully assuming whatever role was needed, but working his way to serving as the Director of the Bible Department. Wilson made a notable impact on the school as he helped significantly grow the school’s Chapel Team, recruiting many students to learn new instruments and lead with their voices, emboldening those students to grow in their musical and spiritual giftings. He engaged all ages in worship, from Preschool to Elementary, up into Middle and High School, both leading and teaching them to lead.

Wilson also enjoys writing songs and growing his family band: “For:19”. In his spare time, you can find him DJ-ing the family dance parties!
