It's Just a Car
One of those days...
Did you ever have one of THOSE days? Yesterday, nothing I did seemed to go right. I got up in the morning and had to clean the floor before I even got showered or dressed because a cat had been sick. Then, I had some unexpected calls from folks…. pulling me away from my “to-do” list. Finally, as I went to leave church last night, at about 9 PM, my car wouldn’t start. All I wanted to do was to go home and go to bed. But there I was, stuck, trying to figure out what to do.
I was eventually able to get the car started, and I did get home, but it is pretty obvious that the car has some real problems. I was angry at myself because I got so frustrated at the situation. So, I decided to ake a list of all the blessings involved…. to improve my attitude:
1. I was at the church when this happened, not on the side of the road.
2. I did get the car home.
3. I have a working cell phone that was fully charged…. should I have needed it.
4. I was headed home… not to some emergency.
5. It’s not my only car.
Focusing on these blessings helped me to admit that this was merely a minor inconvenience.
After all, it’s just a car.
Jesus faced many difficult situations in his earthly life, and this weekend, we will look at how Jesus handled being on trial for his life…. something I pray none of us will ever have to face.
I hope you will join us this weekend, either online at ctcde.online.church at 9 or 11 AM on Sunday, or in-person in Bear at 6 PM Saturday or 9 AM or 11 AM Sunday or at 11 AM Sunday at Elsmere.
We are here to love God and all people so that all people may experience the
life-changing love of Jesus!
LOVE - We meet every weekend to experience God's love for us and show His love for others.
SERVE- We use our abilities, talents, skills, and passions for the good of others.
ENGAGE - We engage with friends to care for one another and to make new friends so they may experience God's kindness too.

I’d like to finish with this prayer for you:
Thank you, Lord God, for helping us to face life’s challenges with confidence. Life is often not easy, but we are grateful to have Your Holy Spirit to guide us and accompany us on our journey. Remind us to listen to your guidance and to follow you. Amen.
