Are Your Works Wondrous?
How Wondrous Are Your Works, O Lord!
Through the years I have vacationed in other states and out of the country. Each trip gave me something memorable to take away (not always souvenirs). But there was one trip -- Cancun, Mexico -- the beaches were beautiful, the shops colorful, and the food delicious! Everything that you would expect!
I usually like to venture out on my own to sightsee but there was a bus trip coordinated by the hotel to a place called Chichén Itzá that struck my interest. I had no clue what Chichén Itzá was. I just followed the crowd.
When we arrived I was excited, speechless, surprised! Here I was standing in a city surrounded by structures built by pre-Columbian Maya civilization 250 AD. Wow!! One of the most prominent tourist attractions was a pyramid called "Castillo Pyramid". It stands 79 feet high and has 91 steps on each of the four sides that tourists could climb. I wanted to climb. The steps were not easy andthe heat and humidity made the climb even more difficult, but eventually I made it to the top. The view was magnificent! I could see for miles and miles!! But what made this all so magnificent? I was looking at some of God's work from way up high, marveling at the sky, the trees...awesome! I'm reminded of an anthem I used to sing in church, "Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God. Just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints."
Psalm 40:5 "O Lord my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them."
Check out these ways that you might share God's love with others:
We are here to love God and all people so that all people may experience the
life-changing love of Jesus!
LOVE - We meet every weekend to experience God's love for us and show His love for others.
SERVE- We use our abilities, talents, skills, and passions for the good of others.
ENGAGE - We engage with friends to care for one another and to make new friends so they may experience God's kindness too.
Go beyond Sunday's message and talk about it with others with Pastor Sharon This informal Zoom meeting is a great way to meet new people, share thoughts, pray together and strengthen your faith.
Pastor Roger and Tim Slagle will be participating in a 300-mile bike ride at the end of April that will begin in Frederick, Maryland, and end in Pittsburgh, PA. Because of your regular contributions to CtC, we are able to support Inca Link and their ministry to share the gospel and change lives of young people in South America. You are welcome to make an "extra mile" gift in addition to your regular offering and tag it for our ride.
Heavenly Father, how wonderful is Your love for us. Your love is immeasurable -- whoever calls on You receives your love. When hearts are broken, when we have sinned, You pour out your love to us. God, Your plans for us, your love for
us are more than we can ever imagine. Thank you Lord! Thank you!
