Can I Really Make a Difference?
Yes! So Look Up and Keep Going!

I know many cyclists ride farther and faster than I do, but I don't ride my bike to compete. I ride it because I enjoy it. I don't intend to brag when I say this, I just rejoice in what I've done. So far this year I've ridden my bike 1,106 miles. (On second thought, I admit: It's bragging. Forgive me.)

While I was enjoying God's handiwork along the lazy Wicomico River, horrible events were happening other places in the world. People were preparing to do evil things to others. In the past week we've all watched, learned, grieved, and prayed for others who suffer. And I'm not just talking about shootings in cities far away. Much tragedy happens very close to home. We can easily get discouraged and depressed.

Don't allow the evil of this world to tear you down.

When I'm riding my bike and I'm tired, or I have a hill to climb, or the wind blows against me twice as fast as I am traveling, I look straight ahead and keep going. Even if I have to peddle at a slower pace. Keep going.

God created us to be people who care about others. That's one way we live God's own image. God cares for us, so we care for others. And we feel other people's pain. When they hurt, we want to fix things. And some of us have the ability to help. We all have something to do, but we all don't have to do the same thing to make a difference. Just remember this: You make a difference. We make a difference.

“Together, we are God’s house, built on the foundation of those he sent to proclaim his messages. Jesus himself is the chief cornerstone. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy dwelling for the Lord.” Eph. 2:20-21.

God is building his people, those who trust in Jesus, into a place where God resides in this world and makes a difference. We each have our part, and Jesus fits us together to do it when we trust and follow him. So let's lift up our eyes to the Lord and keep following him. Press on. Keep going. Don't quit loving God and loving others. That's why where here.

Let’s love, serve, and engage.

Pastor Roger

Here is a prayer for you:
Loving Heavenly Father, thank you for creating us, for creating me. Help us today to be that place where you live so that we can make a difference in this world, right here. Right now. Strengthen each member of your household to carry on in your great and powerful truth and love. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

We are here to love God and all people so that all people may experience the

life-changing love of Jesus!

LOVE - We meet every weekend to experience God's love for us and show His love for others.

SERVE- We use our abilities, talents, skills, and passions for the good of others.

ENGAGE - We engage with friends to care for one another and to make new friends so they may experience God's kindness too.
