Know God, Love God, Love Others
Love Your Neighbor as You Love Your Self
"The second is equally important: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' No other commandment is greater than these." -- Mark 12:31
When you read this scripture, what does the word "neighbor" mean to you? Do you think of it in its literal sense like, next-door neighbor? I often do! But Jesus meant that we should love everyone--those in need, those who we call friend, those who are our relations, and yes, even those have wronged us, which is not an easy thing to do.
I remember once seeing a movie on the life of Christ. The scene was the Sermon on the Mount. A tax collector ran to Jesus and asked him, "How can I see everyone as my neighbor especially when they despise me for taking their money?" Jesus explained that everyone who asks for mercy will be shown love.
Jesus teaches us to love God then we can love others. It is the first and great Commandment. The tax collector made many enemies but found mercy through Jesus. Jesus loved the taxed collector and that tax collector began to love his neighbor. All of them. I'm sure everything changed in his life, including his business practices. God's love changes us so we can love all people.
Heavenly Father, we love and adore You. You bless us each and every day, yet we don't deserve those blessings. You love us more than we can ever imagine when we're doing right or wrong. You forgive us before we even pray for forgiveness and when we forget to pray for forgiveness -- Your love never changes. It always reaches us. Thank you Lord for Your unconditional love and help us to be faithful in our love to you. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Their experiences of the joys and pains of life, of wonderous miracles and the depths of grief, all reveal the amazing and life-changing love of Jesus. Stephen and Debbie will be with us Oct 6-16. Pray that God will use their time with us to inspire and instruct us as we see Greater Things in Jesus' name.
