"A Friend in Need Is a Friend Indeed!"
Do you have a friend in need?

I woke up bright and early Monday morning (my day off) with plans to walk my dog Xena before the temperatures climbed, to reduce my ever-growing to-do list by five items, and then tackle a craft project. Xena and I had a nice long exercise walk, but somehow my motivation to do anything else started slipping away.

As the day wore on, I could not shake this "blue" mood – perhaps it was the weather or maybe not being able to decide which item on my to-do list to tackle first. Whatever the reason, the fact that I was not accomplishing anything was not sitting well with me and I didn’t know what to do about it – I didn’t like wasting a day doing absolutely nothing -- not when I had so many things that I could be doing!

God knows my heart and He knew that this was really bothering me. Around 2:00 I received a phone call from a dear friend and Sister-in-Christ. She needed help with a family matter, and I was able to provide that help. My mood immediately changed! I remembered reading somewhere how helping others helps us by improving our mental health and wellbeing. How awesome is that!! I am so very happy to have been able to help my friend and I thank God for the blessing!

“Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices.” – Hebrews 13:16.
