Being the youngest has its advantages
The Baby of the Family
I am the baby of my family. My brother was born in 1944, my sister was born in 1946, and I was born in 1960. So, I am the youngest by quite a few years.
Being the youngest worked well for me. Both of my parents and my older brother and sister took great care of me, seeing to my every need and yes, spoiling me.
The interesting thing though is that, even though I am quirky and have always marched to the beat of my own drum, my family has loved me through all my strange choices and wanderings.
God’s family is like that. Once we are adopted into God’s family, we are blessed with brothers and sisters in Christ who accept us, quirks and all, and love us with a holy love. And we have the Ultimate Parent in our creator God who loves us when we stray.
I hope you’ll join us this Father’s Day weekend as we come together as God’s family. On Saturday 8:00am we will meet at Kathy’s Crab House in Delaware City at 8:00 AM for a family bike ride along the Mike Castle Trail. On Saturday evening at 7:00 PM, we will enjoy each other’s talents and company at an open mic night at the Elsmere Campus. And on Sunday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, we will gather for a car show at the Bear Campus.
We will also worship as always online at ctcde.church at 9 or 11AM, in person in Bear at 6PM Saturday or 9AM or 11 AM Sunday or at 11 AM Sunday at Elsmere.
