 As far back as junior high school I was a member of the church choir. It was something I did for many years and I enjoyed it. I expressed an interest in singing in the choir because, for one, I loved church music; and two, I would be following in my mother's footsteps. 
 
After moving to Delaware in 2005, the commute to Philadelphia for choir rehearsal and worship service was not working out. I had to move on. How would I handle not sitting in the choir loft singing to God's glory? I didn't know then what it meant to have spiritual gifts, but I've learned recently. Was singing in the choir all those years something I did but not aware that it was a spiritual gift? Yes. As I've learned, one of my gifts is creativity which includes music. In the past few years God has given me abilities to bring other spiritual gifts to the surface. Thank you Lord! Thank you! 
 
 In1 Corinthians 12:31 and following verses, Paul encourages Christians to "eagerly desire the greater gifts....and the greatest of these is love." To pray and ask God to give us spiritual gifts so that we can use them for the greater good of the body of Christ.

Heavenly Father, give each of us the gifts of the Spirit so that we are able to meet the needs of the people of the church and community. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
