Don't let others define your purpose.
Who Do You Say I Am?

We sometimes put a lot of stock in what people say about us. we aren't talented enough, smart enough, pretty enough, rich enough. When we internalize those things, it can cripple us to do anything. Last week, Pastor Roger talked about the idea that we are not just saved from something, but saved for something; for a specific purpose. When we allow what people say about us to dominate our thinking, we can lose sight of that purpose. In Mark chapter 8, Jesus was having a conversation with His disciples. He wanted to know what people were saying about Him. I kinda think he knew, he just wanted them to say it. Then Jesus asked them, "who do YOU say I am?" {eter got the right answer, but, regardless of what Peter had said, Jesus knew His worth and purpose. He knew that He was the Messiah. He wants to give us that kind of confidence so we can live out our purpose in this world.

This weekend, we will continue with our series, Mark My Words, with a message entitled, Jesus is Messiah. We are live, in-person at 6pm Satruday and 9 & 11am Sunday at the Bear C
ampus. 11am Sunday at the Elsmere Campus. Our online Campus is live Sunday at a or on-demand at any time.

We hope to see you this weekend!
